Our Core Operational Model

Our process begins at the community level, where we establish robust partnerships with public-benefit organizations already present in local communities. We empower these organizations to coordinate in-person events that promote lifelong learning for all citizens. Our ultimate goal is to develop and expand networks of these partner organizations across various cities, regions, and even countries, creating a ripple effect of civic enlightenment.

Success in Action: Our Northern California Pilot

A significant part of our strategy involves establishing “Meta-hubs” – regional coordination centers that support and connect multiple local hubs. As a pilot project for The Civic Enlightenment Project, we have successfully launched three Sacramento-based Meetup groups: a Politics and Philosophy Group, an Art and Culture Dilettantes Group, and an Inner Development Group. These groups demonstrate our integrated approach to fostering diverse forms of civic engagement and personal growth. These initiatives exemplify our action plan to empower communities through shared learning and active participation.

What is Civic Enlightenment?

Civic Enlightenment is the critical process of improving self-awareness and mindfulness, releasing inner tension to improve enacted well-being, and expressing thoughts and feelings better. It's about understanding other people’s thoughts and feelings at a deeper level and sorting out fact from fiction amidst the constant bombardment of information. Ultimately, it enables us to identify shared core values, even among people from different walks of life, to reduce conflict in the world, and to develop greater inner peace and overall societal peace. Beyond these foundational principles for personal growth, Civic Enlightenment also encompasses fostering robust community engagement, encouraging collaboration toward shared goals, and promoting generative participation in the political process, all while actively working toward the reform of governmental and cultural institutions to build a more just, happy, and sustainable future.
